Bledsoe Tenderfoot Boot
Product Comparison | Ordering Info | Accessories
The Bledsoe Tenderfoot™ Boot features a more open design of our Automold™ Dual Density technology used in our Conformer boots. It is used to treat ulcerative or pre-ulcerative foot conditions in sensate patients, plantar fasciitis, bone bruises (stone bruises), severe blisters or callouses, or any other foot condition that might respond well to maximum distribution of pressure across the bottom of the foot. The Automold™ innersole is a special self-molding closed cell foam material with ultra-slow rebound characteristics. It features a tough skinned surface so that it does not absorb body fluids and is easy to clean with chlorinated sanitizers or isopropyl alcohol. It is attached to the pre-molded mid-sole, which is designed to enhance peripheral side loading. Together, they create a more even distribution of body weight across the entire bottom surface of the foot. All of this is embedded into our unique aluminum boot shell and arm system that unlike plastic boots, can be re-formed to fit virtually any leg or ankle shape. The shell is bonded to our long-life polyurethane tread with its computer designed rocker bottom for a near normal walking gait. The entire system "floats" the foot in complete comfort and safety and allows the patient to walk immediately with maximum distribution of pressure better than a total contact cast or a pre-molded shoe.
Indications
This device is indicated for ulcerative or pre-ulcerative foot conditions for sensate patients, for moderate to severe plantar fasciitis, or for any other foot condition or procedure that calls for maximizing pressure distribution on the sole of the foot.
Contraindications
This device is contraindicated for insensate patients or for patients where the shape of the foot deviates excessively from normal, such as moderate to severe foot deformities that would preclude adequate fit in the midsole/innersole insert.

Bledsoe Tenderfoot Boot vs. other methods Back to top
| Diabetic Care (not for neuropathy) |
This system has two layers, a bottom molded layer and a top Automold layer that molds to the foot to evenly distribute pressure around the foot and up the sides. |
Either have hexagon shapes which are removed (causing the wound to protrude down and requires wound to be shaved) or foam that does not mold properly to the foot |
| Rocker Bottom |
Computer-designed rocker tread allows a near normal walking gait, and low heel prevents pelvic tilt. |
Rocker is either too high, causing back pain, or too flat, not allowing the patient to walk properly. |
| Security & Control |
Straps engage and lock to brace uprights, holding the leg steady. |
Straps pass over the uprights, through slots or to only one upright, causing the leg to move under the uprights. |
| Shell & Uprights |
Strong aluminum alloy provides strength, yet allows formability to change widths. |
Plastic shell and uprights can not be formed for swollen ankles or large legs. |
| Skin Comfort |
Open-cell, breathable foam laminate increases comfort and reduces possibility of skin problems. |
Flame bonded technique closes foam pores and increases possibility of skin problems. |
